MUNDY TOWNSHIP, MI – A groundbreaking date has been set for work to begin on a new $16 million, four-story Hyatt Place hotel project along US-23 in Mundy Township.
The 106-room facility will be located at 5481 Hill 23 Road and feature a business center, indoor pool, fitness room, bar/lounge, outdoor patio with fire pit, guest laundry and 1,400 square-foot meeting room.
Callie Cain, vice president of sales and marketing for Mt. Pleasant-based Lodgco Hospitality, said the location was chosen due to the need for additional hotels in the greater Flint and Genesee County area.
“The proximity to the highway and the airport is also a benefit,” Cain said.
Lodgco Hospitality will own and manage the hotel and is franchising the use of the Hyatt Place brand, Cain said.
“We also own and manage the Hampton Inn Flint/Grand Blanc that has performed really well for us,” she said.
Lodgco owns and manages 19 hotels, including 16 in Michigan and three in Florida. Their portfolio includes Marriott, Hilton, IHG and Hyatt hotels.
Officials have planned a May 17 groundbreaking ceremony at the site.
